Individual Registration

After enrollment, the participant must complete the following successfully:

1. Blended learning at least 3 days before in-person class
2. Continual 150 yard swim to 2 minute tread to 50 yard swim with no breaks between skills and
3. A brick test which involves the swimmer swimming on his/her front to a submerged 10 pound brick 20 yards, surface diving to the brick, retrieving it from bottom of pool, placing the brick on chest, kicking on back to the entry spot, placing brick on deck and pulling oneself out of water not using the ladder

If the blended learning and the pre-requisites are completed successfully, the student is eligible and should plan to continue in the class.

Note:  Participants must be on time for each class and attend every class as scheduled.  No makeup classes/sessions will be offered.

Blended Learning Classes:

These classes allow the student to complete the online material on his/her own time.  However, the online work must be completed prior to coming to the on-site portion of the class.  This means that there are 7.5 hours of online coursework that must be completed 2 business days prior to the on-site session (listed below) therefore registrations should be received 5 days prior to the in-person class.  The on-site session begins with the in-water pre-course evaluation.  The student must pass the pre-course evaluation in order to continue with the on-site class.

When registering online for blended learning, the blended learning link that you need for completion will be sent from the Red Cross within 72 hours of registration. If the student does not receive the email, please have your student check their spam/junk mail.  If the blended link still isn’t found, please login to RCLC Home (www.redcrosslearningcenter.org) use your preferred email for username and create a password.  Your upcoming class should be listed with the blended learning link available for the student in their learning center.
