Individual Registration

After enrollment, the participant must complete the following:

Pass a pre-course evaluation held during the first day of class before continuing in the class which includes the following skills:

Continual 150 yard swim (on front) to 2 minute tread to 50 yard swim with no breaks between skills and

In less than 1 minute and 40 seconds: swim 20 yards using freestyle or breaststroke, perform a 7-10 ft surface dive, retrieve a 10lb. object from the pool bottom, return to the surface and swim 20 yards back to the starting point with the 10lb. object held with both hands and keeping face above water, then exit the pool without the use of a ladder

Pass/Complete Blended (Online) learning modules and exam provided by Red Cross 1 day prior to class

Participants must be on time for each class and attend every class as scheduled.  No makeup classes/sessions will be offered.

ENROLLMENT FEES ARE NON-REFUNDABLE AFTER THE INITIAL PRE-COURSE SKILLS EVALUATION IS ATTEMPTED.  STUDENTS NEED TO BE ABLE TO PASS THE PRE-COURSE SKILLS EVALUATION.  STUDENTS CAN BE TRANSFERRED TO A DIFFERENT CLASS UP TO 3 TIMES AFTER UNSUCCESSFUL ATTEMPTS AT THE PRE-REQUISITES.  REFUNDS ARE NOT HONORED AFTER INITIAL PRE-COURSE SKILLS ARE ATTEMPTED.

**Any course may be combined or cancelled if the initial registration is below 5 persons or if after the pre-course evaluation there are not enough participants to hold the class.  If a course is cancelled, all enrollees will be able to transfer to another class to be held at a later date.

Blended Learning Classes:

These classes allow the student to complete the online material on his/her own time.  However, the online work must be completed prior to coming to the on-site portion of the class.  This means that there are 7.5 hours of online coursework that must be completed 1 business day prior to the on-site session (listed below).  The on-site session begins with the in-water pre-course evaluation.  The student must pass the pre-course evaluation in order to continue with the on-site class.  It is highly recommended for students to begin the blended learning at least a week prior to in-person class.  There is an exam that must be passed.  The exam allows a number of attempts but has a waiting period between attempts if unsuccessful.
